Tony Dungy Defends Moss... [Jan. 10th, 2005|10:35 pm]
The Minnesota Sports Forum

This actually makes a lot of sense...

"I will say one thing about Moss ... probably no one in the country can appreciate what is behind that," Dungy said. "What happens — and if you play in that division, which I did for a long time, you know — when you leave the parking lot in Green Bay that's kind of a tradition their fans have. They stand next to the fence as the buses go out and they moon the buses.

"Randy has had about six or seven years of those guys mooning him as he's left after a loss and I think that was his way of saying, 'OK, appreciate the fun, you guys had your fun, here's a little shout back at you.' That's what that was all about."

17-16 [Jan. 10th, 2005|09:56 pm]

That's the Timberwolves' record at the moment, after they blew a 16 point lead to the Lakers and lost by the score of 105-96. They've now lost 8 of the last 10, and things continue to become worse. And right now, although it might be a bit premature to be talking playoffs, we're only a half game away from being lottery bound. Yep, we're in serious trouble.

It's insanely frustrating to watch this team play. You just keep waiting and waiting for them to finally get it together, but it just ain't happening. They need to do something to shake things up... trade Sprewell, Hudson, or something. Or else we're back to our old selves again (one playoff series and out).

Great win by Minnesota, and all of a sudden the sky's the limit for this team.

4 INTs off the media's golden boy, and the defense turns in their greatest performance in who knows how long. Awesome performance from Antoine Winfield, made some very key tackles and had one of the picks off Favre.

And who would've guessed, that Randy Moss walking off the field last week would turn out to be the best thing to happen to the Vikes? It takes somwthing silly like that to motivate them.... oh well, I'm not complaining. Oh, and watch the media get itself in an uproar over the Moss celebration. Yeah, it was classless, but I don't really care. It was Moss's big F-U to everyone who so harshly criticised him over the week. And if that motivates the Vikings to play like they did today against Philly, then I'm all for it.

Right here.

"It's not just that their perimeter guys are getting eaten alive by quicker players," said one Eastern Conference scout. "There are times when Cassell and Sprewell look like they don't even care out there."

Interesting read...

And we get the Suns at home tonight. Oh lucky us.

Packers/Vikings Predictions [Jan. 3rd, 2005|07:55 pm]

Considering how horrible we are on the road, how we can never win outside, how we can never win the big game, and how we have absolutely no momentum heading into this game, you would think that the Packers will cruise to victory on Sunday. But I'm still holding out hope that we can somehow pull off the upset. We all know we could've easily won both games earlier this year, and the Packers defense is almost as bad as ours. All we need to do is make a few plays on D, and voila, we pull off the win.

My prediction: Vikes 28, Packers 24. It's a homer pick, but who cares? Hopefully Tice and co. won't let us down this time...
